        Marie Karla began doing hair in 2000 at Vidal Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica. Beauty and fashion became an interest to her through a traveling modeling career, and a lifelong interest in sculpting and art. During her modeling career she has lived in Los Angeles, New York , Paris, and Amsterdam, where she went to art school.

       After Vidal Sassoon she trained at Fred Segal Beauty. The Fred Segal Store is a Los Angeles fashion staple, showcasing young designers from around the world. This was a style/culture learning experience. Not only did she train with Los Angeles top stylists, Marie Karla also gained make-up knowledge from Hollywood film and television make-up artists. She excelled in hair coloring  and worked on, celebrity red head, Marcia Cross of Desperate Housewives, as a loyal client.
         Marie Karla came to New York in 2003 to work at Bumble and bumble Salon. Here she became an educator at the University, and now does editorial work, and bridal clients. Her work can be seen in publications such as Italian ELLE and Nylon magazine. At fashion week she has worked on such noted shows as, Baby Phat, BCBG Max Azria, Bill Blass, Bryan Reyes, Carlos Miele, Chado Ralph Rucci, DKNY, Diane Von Furstenburg, Erin Fetherston, Heatherette, Henry Jacobson, Luca Luca, Mathew Williamson, Naeem Khan, Preen, Proenzo Schouler, Rag+Bone, Reyes, Thakoon, Tuleh, Victor & Rolf, Vivienne Westwood, VPL, Yigal Azrouel,Y-3.

          Drawing ideas from street fashion, music, and each clients individuality she continues to evolve as a hairstylist. She also finds creative inspiration through books and photographing her work.
